Racing Summary for 2007

Gregory & team have now finished another racing season. You can find our 2007 race summary here, minus only a few local KCKA club races in Liberty, MO that we managed to squeeze in. You an see our 2008 schedule on that page. This page will remain with the summary of the races; how we finished, and other tid bits. Again I am behind on my updates due to our hectic schedule.

Through out 2007 we had our ups and downs. Unfortunately we had more ups off of the track, and more downs on the track. Gregory has again proven he can drive. Too often we had errors in our adjustments in the pits, or mechanical/ motor failure. Gregory drove his rear off this year, and did an awesome job with what he had. Others have definitely noticed him and a few more opportunities are opening up for him. Check back as we get closer to the 2008 season. We are hoping to have some more news in this area.

We have all learned a lot in the area of kart tuning and in particular with the Mini Swift  motor. While we were given (via a 2 year sponsorship) a Tony Kart cadet to drive, we struggled with it through most of this 1st year trying to find the right set up. It wasn't until the end of Tag Nationals, that we think we found it. We had the Mini Swift dyno-ed near the end of the year at Fairfiled's only to find out we had been fighting a losing battle with the fuel pump, thanks to Steve and Larry for helping to find that problem. Our Comer K-80 went to Doug Fleming for rebuild & rework. We also "found" Doug Sharp with MMS to assist us with other motor & technical problems. Of course we still have Jim Russell Jr and all the guys at Russell karting in our corner. All have done so much to teach us and help us run.

The best this year has been the wonderful friends we have met and raced with / against all year. Too many to name all of them here, but new friends from Pennsylvania to Washington, Texas, Colorado, Wisconsin, Iowa, California, and everywhere in between. Thanks to all of our family and friends, for helping make this a great year for the Gerst racing team.
